    Hi,
has anyone with a Dell Inspiron/Vostro ever hooked up an external LCD/TFT to his VGA port? My father is quite concerned with the Vostros lack of DVI/HDMI ports and wants to know whether the VGA port on Vostros/Inspirons can provide signal quality close to / same as DVI. He is going to massively use Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word and won't buy the Vostro 1400 if the VGA port sucks :)
    Thank you in advance!

If you ask me for connecting the laptop to a projector the VGA port is far more than enough.... Only for watching movies on your HDTV or something a DVI or HDMI would be really to look out for that too if you are too much extremely worried abt the pic quality....

This is exactly the question that will affect my purchasing decision, so I hope you get an answer. If there's a difference, it would be nice to know if it's the kind you'd only notice if you saw the two side by side, or if it's noticeable to the extent that it makes for an unpleasant viewing experience.
