Can someone tell me the difference between High Definition Audio 2.0 or Integrated Sound Blaster® Audigy™HD Software Edition?

I'm undecided whether to get the Vostro 1500 or 1700.

The software just adds more features like better game audio output, 3D audio and EAX effects, surround sound up-mixing of stereo music, and cinematic sound with DVD player.

Would the upgrade to the better sound card help drown out the random humming some folks are hearing in their headsets?

The SB Audigy upgrade is NOT a different sound card, it's just additional software that can emulate EAX and other things from the SAME sound chip.

Yeah I guess it uses some additional software based DSP to improve the sound quality to a certain extent...

What prevents someone from just using the Sound Blaster driver then?

Link? If it is cheap I might try it just for EAX support in WoW.
