Alright so I got Vostro running on XP finally and it all seems to be doing fine except for when I put it to sleep. Everytime I try to power it on afterwards, the screen never comes back on. Any suggestions at what might be wrong.

NVIDIA driver not allowing system to come out of sleep/hibernate

The screen is black while coming out of sleep/hibernation with a Nvidia card forcing the user to reboot to regain system functionality. This problem is becoming widely documented across the internet and it only appears with the Nvidia series cards. The current fixes are to not go into hibernate/sleep or to disable 3 DLL's related to Nvidias operation (attempting to find the 3 DLL's). Apparently it is not all cards that are affected nor all models of one card, and it seems totally random so far. Disabling the nvidia programs in msconfig/startup fixes the problem. Unknown side effects.

I was able to cure this sleep/hibernate issue by re-installing the 8400m GS driver. From the Dell Support site. Problem solved.
