I am new to this poll thingy, so I will post two separate polls in order to compare the temperatures of the two most popular alternative on Vostro laptops, namely the T5470 (base cpu) and the T7300 (the sweet spot on Core 2 Duo offerings)

So, here's the question only for T7300 owners:

After one hour or so of reading, browsing and light editing (like surfing this very forum - no games, no video editing...) what is your (average) CPU temperature?

    1. Between 30 and 45 °C
    2. Between 46 and 55 °C
    3. Between 56 and 65 °C
    4. Between 66 and 75 °C
    5. Between 76 and 85 °C
    6. Over 86 °C

    Vostro 1500, T7300

CPU core temp (RMclock): 44-53C when idle (multiplier 6 only), having "popup" mode disabled to avoid the whistle.

The temperature rises to 53+C in 5-10 mins without the fan being on, then the fan runs for a minute or so and cools that down to 44. The whole cycle repeats.

Is that normal? I would expect that to be pretty cool in idle without the need for a fan. Standard room temperature - low 20ish.
