I read on some thread that the Vostro has a spill proof keyboard and the Inspiron doesn't... is this true?

EDIT: I know the Vostro's have it, but I'm not sure if the Inspirons have it or not...

Not sure. I wouldn't test it though :p

And if it is, shouldn't there be some liquid draining mechanism at the bottom, like the ones on the Thinkpads?

They both are the same, though the inspirons dont advertise it. all it is is black plastic layer below the keys and a clear plastic glued to the bottom of the keyboard...and around the edges of the keyboard it is slightly rolled up to contain the liquid. Not exactly spill "proof" but maybe spill resistant.

Yea. I saw that when I took apart my laptop. Looked like enough to contain a small amount of liquid but I wouldn't risk my laptop to test it. It definitely holds the crumbs. lol.
