    Vostro1400 wireless connectivity speed

    So I have Vostro 1400 with the 1390 wireless card but it seems that the wireless connection speed is slower then I would like it to be. My question is if there are any settings that I can adjust to make it faster. I have Vista Premium. I am running AVG free anti virus, Have ad-aware and spybot but they are only for on demand scan. I usually have 4 or 5 of the 5 bars on the wireless connection (sometime go down to 2 or 3 but not too often)

    I notice choppy play of video streams at even 225kb speed (I have the DSL that can go up to 1.5MB. Also during gaming I see some lag too).
    Compared to my T40 tha is almost 4 years old Vostro seems to play the the video stream and online games slower. The card on my T40 is rated to 11MB where as the one in Vostro is 54MB.

    Are there any recommended good stream speed tests?

    Try reinstalling your drivers with the newest ones available.

    I did OS install to Vista premium last week and installed most of the required drivers then. Latest driver for 1390 on Dell is dated 7/12/07 so I think I have the latest driver but will check tonite.

    Anyone else has any feedback? tweaks?
