dELL IS SO WEIRD IN their pricing.
When I ordered my laptop, the colored screens were included.
Then they went to $19, then $46, then, $50......???????

ruby red is mine.dont know why america has to pay 50$ for a color, when canada doesnt have to pay at all.

 

Malaysia here is even weird, when I ordered it 2 months ago, no extra charges for lid color, now choosing color other than black and white will impose additional charges of $40 for the colour and webcam.

Somemore you can't take away the webcam if you choose color other than black or alphine white. Must pay $40 for your color, together with the webcam

yep like i said earlier if they were still charging maybe 20$ for colors and they were not delayed for like 2 months i def would have ordered a color

 

Delay for 2 months, that is horrible ... No much people hv that kind of patience...That is a big setback for Dell...

i think dell should at least have the body of the laptop made with all the paint and everything, then put the parts in but i dont know how laptop building works

Faster? Not necessarily, because of most other components are running short. Like my Black just got pushed back a month today. Good looking as always come down to personal preferences, but yes, it does look good in black

 

Right now mine is invisible because I've yet to receive it.

 

It's probably best that i ordered Black, would not mind the white tho.. would have ordered it if i knew it wouldn't delay my shipping time anymore than it already is..

 

o got a black color for my 1520....its solid no tjust on performance but also on its looks

I like the midnight blue because black is already too common, I like the mixture of blue and black....

 

still wish i got the blue or white.. oh well mine is shipping tomm boxing today (hopefully) so black it is i guess..

I ordered a black one but when it arrived it was green. The specs where all the same and the price never changed. I contacted dell and they gave me the option to send it back or keep it. I chose to keep it as i like the green. Glad i did now.

 

and Spring Green got another vote...accidentally :laugh: (I guess you've voted Green...haha)

I've ordered RUBY RED as well.... Luckily they dont charge extra for choosing colours here in India as on the US site....

 

Wow...Looks like Ruby Red is catching up, already capturing the third position, pushing Spring Green down to 4th place.

 

Today DELL has updated the price on DELL India and damn they are charging Rs.1240 extra for all lids other than Black and white.... Well I just got lucky I guess in squeezing my order just in time by 4 days....

 

wow wish i got a different color than black unless it was pink or maybe yellow id keep it def.. i like the black but its so common im kicking myself for not ordering a color instead wish i could somehow find a deal on a 1720 and get rid of this 1520 altogether...if they had some coupons id def cancel and re-order a 17"

I didn't choose the color. Dell did, because it was a replacement...

At first I didn't like it because it was boring. Now, I think I kinda like it. It looks clean and fresh.

I was hoping for blue though...

Just some wild thought, hoping Dell can include more colors, or even let consumer specify the RGB values of the colors. But that would probably delay the shipments by 1 year, haha

but, its a fingerprint pad! anyone knows how I can get rid of the fingerprints on my jet black lid? Its barely a week old, and its covered with prints all over....

i wanted a midnight blue though. but did not wish to either wait or pay extra.

 

I guess Black colour is known for easily picking up fingerprints especially with a matte finish and there is nothing much you can do about it.... May be try wiping the outside of the laptop using some soft cloth....

Ill be the first to say that mine is Yellow! I have an arrival date of tommorow and I cant wait. 1420 Intel 1.6 2gb ram Vista Premium dvd-r web cam 160 gb hard drive! I even got the color matching wireless mouse!

 

Considering black isn't really a color, but a sad attempt to save a little money and get your laptop to ship faster, midnight blue is the obvious winner.

Really though, how many people voted black just because of the cost/shipping? You should vote based on your actual preference on appearances!
