As much as I love my 1520...I just sold it for exactly what I paid for it. I also just received my $150 Giftcard from that purchase, which I used for the m1530.

This is the specs for the m1530
XPS M1530, Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7500
Alpine White Casing with High Gloss Finish XPS M1530
    1GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm for XPS M1530 ( Already bought 4GB for $60)
15.4 inch Wide Screen WXGA+ TrueLife LCD with 2.0 MO Camera
    256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M G
120GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive for XPS M1530
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition
    8X DVD+/-RW Slot Load Drive for XPSM1530
Dell Wireless 1490 802.11a/g Mini Card
56 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion P Primary Battery, for XPS M1530
85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Additional Battery, for XPS M1530
$50 Dell Dollars Code. Dell Dollars will be sent automatically 4-6 weeks after order ships
Dell Wirless 355 Bluetooth Module (2.0+EDR)
4 year Completecars with 4 year Accident coverage and Lojack.

    $1404 + $117 taxes= $1522-$150 gift card(received from the system I sold)

Total= $1372 plus I get and additional $70 giftcard for adding the 4th year warranty.

I need input, in comparison to others deals. Does this seem like a decent deal? Could I do better?

    Thanks
    Mac

PS My 1520 had the same specs as above. I paid $1180 with taxes and shipping and sold it for $1180.

into dell's search bar. I'm not sure if you'll get any type of 8% discount on it, but if not it's always worth calling up and asking for.

I just configured your system using code and it comes to $1,527. So, yeah I'd say you got a pretty good deal because the $1,527 doesn't even include taxes.

Just out of curiosity, how did you configure the laptop? Did you have your own code?

Mac, when I ordered it, I was at $1554, just shy of $1,600 which is the point at which you get 12% off. I added the upgraded sound card (SOUND BLASTER X-FI XTREME AUDIO) for $50 which put me over the break point.

Looking at the reciept they emailed me again....I didn't include the price for the sound card:

A1165160 1 EXPRESSCARD SOUND BLASTER X-FI XTREME AUDIO NOTEBOOK
Subtotal: $29.99 Shipping and Handling: $0.00 Sales Tax: $1.86 Total: $31.85

....so the actual total is $1,414.44 (tax included).

I'm not quite sure how I got the $50 card for $29.99....to tell the truth i was too excited about getting the higher definition display, as it wasn't listed on the EPP build form, so I wasn't paying too much attention!
