    WARNING - Dell Wireless WLAN 1397 can cause Slow ShutDown

    If you have Studio 1535 and you are with official driver from Dell's web:

    Release Date: 7/3/2008
    Version: 4.170.75.0, A18

    You can have very slow shutdown (1-2 minutes)!


    I found new driver from Studio 1537/Dell latitude:

    Release Date: 12/9/2008
    Fixes and Enhancements:
    This release adds support for Dell Wireless 1397 and 1510 WLAN and enables Disable Upon Wired Connect in Windows Vista. It also fixes an issue related to wltrysvc slow shutdown.

    So if you have slow shutdown please update your driver!
    Hope it will helps to someone with the same problem!
    My shutdown is now about 20 seconds....

    Good to know and thanks for sharing. Have you done any Vista tweaking? I know you can set it so that it doesn't wait long to shutdown hanging processes. It is still good to see them fix the problem though.

    No Vista tweaking!
    Everything is default!
    I'm using Vista SP 1 (now actually SP 2) X64 version!

    But with "old drivers" i really had super slow shutdown time.
    And I was like - "What the... is going on"?!
    But after the update everything is fine and as I said - my shutdown time is very fast IMO!

    Thanks a lot for the information, bigdarkmad. I recommend updating the Wi-Fi driver to this version. My shutdown time has tremendously been reduced.

    this driver really works - no slow shutdown, and no crackling sound!
    Great!
    BUT IT CAUSE MY WI-FI LED/indicator to bilking like crazy!
    I'm afraid it will harm/burn my LED indicator!
    Can you comment this issue please?
