I've been applying for the dell deferred account in the past weeks but was always declined... and during the big event the other day, when i applied again, i got approved but sadly i didn't get the 0% 6months apr... i got a 28.9%... so much for discounts
i don't know if i should be happy because i got approved or sad because of the HIGH apr...[ :(][V][ :(]

Wow, they did that to you too? I applied for their stupid card during that special event sale this past tuesday. I got approved, only to get hit with that same 28 percent APR crap. I got no bad credit or whatsoever, and to my dismay they neither give me the interest free 6 month or the 3 months no payment either. What a rip, ontop of that their site was giving me the run around which end up causing the coupon to expired. I really do think Dell is going on deep plunge down hill with no return.

That's really high I guess what I am doing is finally paying off. Ever since i got my first CC in 1965 I have paid the statements balance off the same day I get it out goes a check. This way for 39+ years I have never paid any interest nor have i ever paid a late charge. BTW others are paying about 9.9% to 13.99%, 26.9% is awfully steep for a annual percentage rate IMHO.

Ok, I know this isn't the place to be doing this, but I just have to say that financing a computer is a terrible decision. Think of it the same way as financing a car. You buy it and as soon as you drive it off the lot(open the box) the value already decreased. So not only are you still paying for something that's steadily depreciating, but your paying interest on it as well. Ok, I won't get into details(this isn't the place), but I'm sure you can see where this is going. It's just not a good idea to finance things, but it's a horrible decision to finance things that go down in value.

At that rate, I'd get a bank loan instead.

Yes this is a big ripoff.
If you buy a Dell using Dell's 28.9% loan rate and pay the suggested 3%/month, it will take 5.8 years to pay off and the final cost to you for say a $3000 notebook would be $3000 + $3,139.72 in interest for a grand total of $6,139.72 for a $3,000 notebook...talk about loan sharking[} :)]

You can do that, but you need to read the details of the loan very carefully. This is because most of the time, if the account has not been paid off in full by the end of the 0% 6month offer, then they will back charge you full interest for the entire 6 months and rake in the cash that way.

    So be carful

Is Dell Expensive financing in spain too?
i was thinking about this Dell xps and though about finance it
dell use a bankloan for that matter but is rather a financing.
i can buy a HP pavillion at a store center here and they only charge
like 3% for finance it over 2 years thats quite good problem is they dont have dell.

so should i not finance it by dell then?
if i buy dell i get a loan instead and buy it that way
or should i go for a Hp pavillion?

I am just curious. I am thinking of going the route of a CC soon. I am 18 and starting school in January. Would it be a good idea to do this? Also, how do CC companies come up with monthly payments? is it a certain percentage? Then after that percentage is taken, you get a percentage of the balance added as interest? Just trying to get this right before I think of it any more, lol.

Also, try not to apply for credit cards. wait until they invite you through mail. they give you a credit limit depending from your salary. im only 19 and not making much cash but making sure that my credit score stays up and good. Im accually taking advantage of a credit offer i have that they've invited me of 0% for intro financing for 6 months so me happy with that.

Thats a good idea to check first before you do credit cards. My personal opinion, You should try to limit financing like to cars, or a house. small things like this can lower your credit score a little and if miss a payment then dont ever think that you can get those 0% financing when they offer it and expect to get it like for cars. My advise is to just save up enough money before you buy. it will save you some financing interest and will not harm your credit scores. And if you do financing then make sure you read all i mean ALL of the FINE PRINTS before you charge it. O yea, your credit score will affect your apr% the rest of your life so use it wisely!!! :)

Just curious, what company/bank did your card come through? Also, what have you bought with it, and what payments have you had to pay on it? Trying to find out what I should be looking for.

i have discover but i only use it for tranfer balance till the 6th month so i dnt have to pay for interest. i just have to pay for it in 6 months. I put the 2k bill to my dell preffered card because they bill you the next month then ill probably pay for it when i get the bill full to my 0% credit card.

This is a blessing believe me. Go somewhere where they want your business. DELL, just wants your money.
