    WINXP install cant detect my hard drive! says there is none!

    When I try to instal windows xp on my 1530, the installation doesnt detect my HD! Can anyone help me out please!

    Go into your BIOS and switch your SATA to Compatibility.

    Better yet, because there is some performance loss doing that!, is to slipstream the SATA drives you need into your own XP CD using nLite.

    i second that. it´s way better to slipstream the sata driver to the XP CD. There are already quite a lot topics concerning XP and the SATA DRIVER.
    if you search a little bit with the forum search you will find how to Sliptstream the with Nlite.

    Of course after you do that you should install the updated chipset along with the Intel Matrix Manager so you can switch back to AHCI. You won't have to slipstream anything.
