I wanted to pop in and say what a GREAT site! I've been browsing all day long trying to find a good laptop for school, I wanted one for gamming at a great price.

I had been looking at some outragiously overpriced xps 1710's. I was able to build A really nice 1720 (specs in sig) that pretty much matched the ungodly overpriced 1710 (I'll miss the LED's though :( )

I can't wait to OC that card! The only thing that I hope is that I can perhaps upgrade to a 7900gs or 7950GTS but hopefully I can find that out through searching, but my 8600GT should do well when overclocked =D

lol Now lets hope I don't have to wait 2 months for it to arrive!

If you were looking at the XPS M1710, just wait until the M1730 comes out here in a little bit...

I was aware of the 1730 but figured it to be over my budget (1500) I think that this should supply my gaming needs (pretty much HL2 and Starcraft) with school needs.

I doubt I'll be able to upgrade my video card but I'll see how much I can OC the 8600 and hopefully I can push it at least on par with a 7900 GS

LED screens are in short supply and thus GROSSLY overpriced.

But they have a cool factor I do envy.

Yeah...I really wanted to get a color (besides white since it doesnt have a dell-ay) it's supposed to ship out on the 6th of September, but I doubt that'll happen

I just got off the phone with A phone rep and I had been hearing alot about people getting DDR2 chips in their 8600GT's, so I wanted to ask him what I would be getting, and he talked to his "technical staff" guaranteeing me DDR3 chip, but I'm fairly sure that i'll be getting the DDR2 chip, I'm just extremely surprised that they havn't fixed this problem yet, I had him make a note of it on my account and told him that I would call him if I recieved a DDR2 card.
