WOW! I can't believe ppl who ordered b4 me are getting their laptops already!

This is ridiculous I am still in the build stage since 5/19;

I keep emailing Dell CS expressing my concerns and they just blow me off stating the obvious-- they dont even mention if any parts are backordered.

I have had it with Dell; and may cancel this order if it does not ship by 6/4--

anyone know of any other laptop manufacturers that offer T9300 with WUXGA-- I have been leaning toward ASUS but I do not know of any companies that build asus laptops with WUXGA.

I ordered the same day and have the same ESD and I'm also still in build...

Seriously, quit your whining. I ordered my 1530 on may 9th and no end in sight yet. And I'm not even the worst here. Come back later when they blow your estimated delivery date 3 times.

 

I'm a couple days after you but I feel I will be just as mad by the end of this week. I wouldn't care half as much if they would tell me that they have delays and on what parts. When I ordered the only delay I saw was the battery. If they are having that much trouble with the 6 cell than they need to start handing out complimentary 9 cell

 

Then there would be a shortage of 9 cells....and more importantly (to dell)...
A shortage of profits...

 

True that but maybe they would ship a couple more laptops a day. I can't imagine what it would be like to just order an xps without any previous knowledge and then wonder where it is 3 weeks later. I came extremely close to buying the 999 xps that Best Buy has just so I would have an xps but I realized that the T5500 would be disappointing.

I played with the best buy 1530 (in anticipation of getting mine)...

Honestly complaining about a 5/19 purchase date now is kind of childish compared to whats been seen on these forums. More than likely, even if you do get a delay email that you will hit boxing next week.

 

Lucanesti are you in America? I ordered the exact same thing as you and it would be nice to get that kind of speed in my order.

 

The 'there are people that have it worse, so suck it up' argumentation doesn't justify having to wait 16 days for a laptop to ship...

I understand that there are people who have been waiting longer, and IMO they should be getting priority, but that doesn't make waiting a lesser amount of time any more bearable...

I spent atleast 10 hours on the phone with Dell, asking questions, speaking to managers about sales people trying to rip me off, and by the end I had 3 people emailing telling me that I was in Boxing now.

I started from the start proactively, I didnt give them the time of day to delay me, I made it clear to the person who took my order, and the 2 managers I talked if they pushed my ESD back a day I would cancel and take my Business to HP.

I also let them know of the chat records I have with Matthew_C who told me in chat "I promise you will ship before your ESD" Along with being told by Alvin that its company policy to ship before ESDs and I would contact the BBB if this didnt happen.

They probally wrote "Crazy ***** will kill us if we dont ship this" on the order form.

Well, I feel I have every reason to complain one of the reasons I ordered from Dell on that day was that it would coincide with my scheduling; now if it gets delayed till the week after then I may have to cancel as my schedule may change to where I will not be available to receive the laptop.

Anyone have any luck getting upgrades on shipping after talking with reps about the delays?

I can relate to all of you, I ordered on 5/16; my ESD is 6/3 and I'm still in the BUILD stage as well. I find it hard to believe they will hit my ship date since boxing takes 2-3 days as well. I'm pretty pissed at Dell myself; and talking to their CSRs just makes me madder. Oh well...

 

I know it's like a 25 day wait, but seriously that is not bad at all. There have been cases of Inspiron 1510's(?) (The ones with the 8600GT) that arrived 2 months later, and in some instances, never. Just relax you only have like 6 days left, it won't kill you. If it helps call up Dell and check-up on the status to make SURE that it will ship the 5th, that way you can be assured it'll at least come to you.

Same goes to you, call Dell up if you are unsure of the status and make SURE that at least it'll ship the 3rd.

 

i dont think i could put up with dell CS from what ive heard, bunch of non english speaking indians. i have a hard time understanding accents, i would probably get really mad hrmm

 

Its not possible to get upgraded shipping "expedited" service on a laptop that has already been ordered.

I got free shipping just by asking what ESD meant. Friendly Foreigners :-D

 

Yeah talking to their Indian CSRs is not a good idea unless you feel the need to get angry. Just verifying my email address took 5 minutes when I called the last time. What the guy was telling me was clearly off of a Dell piece of paper that they just repeat over and over. "Your Dell order is scheduled to ship on or before 6/3, and you will be notified if there are delays" bla bla bla. I asked him if I could get an upgrade to next day shipping and he said it wasn't possible.

 

Seriously though, there is nothing wrong with giving a shot, you have nothing to lose, only information to gain. Plus, CS cannot turn you down for checking up the status of an order, that's called. . . illegal?

 

lol. You guys seriously need to stop whining and begin to look at other options, if any. After three weeks, I decided not to be blinded by the M1530 anymore and began scouting around, and I found a Gateway that I liked. I canceled the M1530 right away and ordered that instead. I'll be getting mine on Monday.

 

i dont feel the need to call cs, my esd is 6/3 and the edd is 6/4, i already got free overnight shipping by just placing my order over the phone, and it has been in boxing since thursday morning, so it looks like everything is on schedule.

 

I have been waiting 5 weeks. Mine will be here Monday.

i do have to say being the first time i have ever bought anything from dell in my life, after i ordered it i was confused on the ship time, of taking 3 weeks to make a laptop. as long as my laptop comes in good working condition and i get what i paid for no problemo.

 

Yeah it is what it is, in the end your wait pays off when you get one of the best laptops out there for the money spent.

Btw I cant wait to post the video of my cooling idea.

Just ask why you arent in boxing yet, if its possible for you to ship on your ESD even though you arent in boxing yet, and what kind of compensation can be provided to persuade you to not cancel if it gets delayed.

 

Yea I just emailed them about the compensation thing-- I guess I will not be able to call until monday morning... funny thing is last 2 times I have called right at 8 when they open I get some guy saying the customer database is down and to call within the next 3 hours!

The only time I have to call them is right when I get to work; later than that I am usually tied up in meetings

Looking at your specs Matth the only discrepancies I see b/w our 2 systems is the lcd, HDD, mem and the wifi-- well the color too

But anyways we did order on the same day and both have the same ESD...

How many times have you called CS? I ordered mine over the phone well over the internet initially and then changed the order over the phone via an actual US represenative (dunno if that helps or not)

btw I followed one of the posts who got his delivered recently (yesterday) and he ended up having a keyboard that was bent which is totally intolerable... I really hope that doesn't happen here

 

I only called once, got the down for 3 hours call back thing and I hung up...
I call the automated status thing almost every hour that i'm not busy though...it's bad...

Well, people usually put me down and say im nothing compared to people who dont smoke, am less mature and less educated. Although its a sterotype and yes I have given up the ambitions to work my ass off for life just to die in a nicer coffin, it doesnt mean im any less of a person. Maybe people think that though.

 

Anyways, back to topic, i'm still in build, my wife just gave me a sweet wireless G7 Gaming mouse and orange box today, and i really want my notebook more than ever. Unfortunately, i'm afraid it will be delayed.

Haven't heard much about portal but it sounds like an interesting game. I heard the 8600gt's handle orange box pretty well. Can't wait to duke it out in team fortress 2..

 

Well seeing as my 128mb ATI mobility x300 runs hl2 and portal both pretty well I'm not worried when it comes to the 8600...

Plus as far as I know source stuff is supposed to be multithreaded for dual core processors...an added bonus...

 

CPUSpeedman07 should be the next if things go by succession to be in boxing; however just like us he is in build stage this is ridiculous;
CPUSpeedman07 G7 is a nice mouse I've got 2 laying around-- the battery runs out quickly tho... nothing beats my G9, i doubt I'll ever buy another mouse since I have began using this one!

 

I'm really hoping it goes into boxing tomorrow so it makes my ESD. Hopefully those guys work hard on sundays over there in malaysia.
