That is horrible. Call Dell and UPS. UPS will have to handle the stolen material not you.

That sucks sorry to hear. But it could be good thing. Get the duel core for only $40 more, and buy the tv tunner on ebay for $40 and save some money and get a much fast computer. Just my 2cents. I keep running to the window cause my e1505 should be here anytime now.

I've had UPS "lose" shipments of mine twice in the past and once deliver back to the sender (me) after making it halfway to the destination, it's not unheard of, it sucks and they're responsible here. I've never had a problem with FedEx.

As they say "**** happens". It's good to hear that Dell agreed to send you another directly. Rest assured that UPS will be paying for it, not Dell. That should bring some satisfaction to you :D

I never had problems with either UPS or FEDEX. UPS packages tend to arrive looking more in one piece, although I just got a DVDRW delivered by them that looks like it might have taken a bit of a fall. FEDEX on the other hand almost killed my notebook. The package arrived with a hole thru a double boxed package, and according to my calculations, whatever did the damage missed my screen by no more than a cm or 2. At the time I just sent a complaint letter, mostly just to blow off some steam.

I suggest you also send a complaint letter. Let their customer service know you're pissed. :p

Bargain with them for duo core or something as it's an inconvenience/loss for your "business".

man, that sucks, waiting another 2-3 weeks!!! i'd go postal if that happened to me. no one "stole" your order though, sounds like ups delivered it to the wrong place.

although both UPS and FedEx both seem to do their best to smash up packages, FedEx seems to be somewhat better.

You guys may want to look at www.unitedpackagesmashers.com :D

A friend used to work at a UPS dist. center and he would tell me sometimes kids who work there would purposely try to smash packages by throwing it etc. either for fun or if they're pissed or whatever.

i don't think contacting the local hub (even if you could find their number) would help much, if anyone could help you, it's corporate customer service.

Sorry to hear about that. This isn't the first time that this has happened with dell. Actually I think it is pretty common. Dell always warns that if you receive a package to inspect it carefully before accepting it. Once you accept it, you are responsible for it, but if you see that something is wrong and refuse to accept it - dell & your carrier is responsible for it.

lilfazzl, refuse the delivery if UPS tries to give you a package that was already opened by someone else.

That's the problem with UPS, they always just drop the package right in front of the house and ring the doorbell and leave. THey dont even get a damn signature, at least for the area im living at.

WOW. Those pics make you feel real easy about ordering fragile stuff online!

UPS always take a signature here, and it shows on the online tracking who signed for it. Not sure if it is because they don't deliver to my apartment. Here in my building all packages are just left at the front desk and I pick them later. I like that, since I am rarely at home during the day.

that's interesting. all my dell stuff has come from UPS and they always required a sig. it's dell policy for computers, at least in california.

UPS left your Dell on your doorstep without a signature? that's pretty crazy.

It's a fact that UPS has to have a signature. If you dont sign for it, and leave it, you could easily say you never got the laptop, and have another sent out on UPS's behalf. Or the fact someone could have taken it off your doorstep (with a big Dell logo, and a laptop computer on it, it could be tempting for mis happeneing). Its not right at all.

My replacement parts needed a signature. But oddly, Accessories dont.

I would refuse delivery if it was an opened package.
Then I would call Dell and cancel my order and then reorder a new rig with duo core and any other "second thought" specs I sould have ordered the 1st time. There are still plenty of good coupons available.
