I had my 9400 replaced (overheating issue) and the new system came with a different screen.

In device manager it shows as LPL, so I assume it is LG (correct me if I am wrong). The old screen shows up as SHP, hence seems to be Sharp (again, correct me if I am wrong).

Before sending the old one back, I took a couple of quick shots to compare the screens. MAX brightness. LG on the left (in side-by-side comparison), Sharp on the right.

A similar comparison was done in this thread, although between LG and Samsung: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=79962

hey, that's my thread link. Btw, that SHarp is not very good in brightness, contrast and saturation.

    LG is champion!!!

funny that your replacement system came with stickers attached in the same order as mine. as if there's 1 guy who installs LG monitors and he places the "centrino" sticker to the left of the "design for windows xp". my other 9400 had it the other way. it's silly, but something that i noticed ;)

If you look at the center picture, the notebook with the LG is more orange. I mean the NOTEBOOK is more orange, not even the screen. The lighting in your room or something with your camera is making the left side of your image have some differnt colors on it. That makes it seem like a bad test case as far as a picture goes if objects on one side of the pic have different colors than the other.

akk, no its not. There is a hint of orange on the left because he has a lamp near his laptops, more so closer to the left then the right. aside from some slight reflection on the top surface, the areas lit by the flash and the screens wich are not reflecting any light from the lamp due to angle are not changing color.

I have the LG screen on my 1505, funny how its considered bright compared to the older screens that came with these. I find the LG to be satasfactory only, and dosnt hold a candle to the brightness of my dell lcd monitor. If I had a lower brightness monitor, I might have really complained when I got my laptop.
