What is the general opinion about this screen. And more importantly is it grainy?

Everyone'll say the text is very small.

Not a problem for me personally, I like high resolution screens.

Hasn't arrived yet, as much as I would wish it. :)

I've not seen a Dell WUXGA in person with the latest models, so I cannot comment.

Small text and icons can be corrected by adjusting DPI (in Control Panel) and by enabling ClearType.

Allows for Hi-Def viewing, scales down to lower resolutions better than other res's can, and is VERY sharp. Had a 9400 with it, very happy, and now ordering 1720 w/WUXGA

i think im just gonna use 1440 x 900 ... its perfect for the 17inch laptop i use now. Is it a problem if i do this and dont use the native resolution?

    what is meant by grainy?

i had a WUXGA screen on my dell inspiron 8600 and it was perfect
sure the icons are a bit small, but you get used to it after a while
and you can have so many windows open its great

    i highly recommend that screen
