I am looking to buy a Dell 9100, but I do not know the differences between the different processors. There are WXGA, WUXGA, WSXGA. What do they mean? I am looking for the best option for gaming, but price is an issue so I would like to keep it as cheap as possible. I have read through the forums about how certain types have smaller icons and other aspects, and I like smaller icons, so which would be the best for me. Does it even make that much of a difference?

If you love to game, you should get at least the WSXGA. Basically, WSXGA has a higher resolution than WXGA, and WUXGA has the highest resolution. As far as which one to choose between WSXGA and WUXGA is really a matter of personal preference. If you don't mind small fonts and want the highest resolution, then the WUXGA is the way to go because this is ultra sharp and can look quite nice. WSXGA is a nice balance of resolution and fonts. I would stay away from WXGA if you game.

Ok thanks! So it looks like I will be getting the 2.8 Ghz 15.4 WUXGA

It only matters if you plan on running your games at a resolution higher than 1280x800

It really depends on your video card. I prefer higher resolution to anti-aliasing, since it is less processor intensive, and makes it just as sharp. a 1280x800 resolution will have significant stairstepping, and it's just a waste to get the 9700 if that's the resolution you will be playing on. SXGA gives you about 70% more pixels, but will still be smooth on the radeon 9700. If you are at all concerned about gaming, definitely get SXGA. WUXGA is kind of a waste too, because no mobile video card out there can handle that resolution in gaming. SXGA is the sweet spot, and at $50 it is a bargain.
WXGA? WXGA+? WSXGA??? HELP!!!
