This may be old news, but thought I'd share a conversation I had with an IT Manager colleague in France (he looks after 200 users).

I was telling him about the delay on my Latitude D630 (ordered 24th July, ESD = 05th Oct.) and he said that he had had the same experience in France with laptops ordered in July (although he didn't specify which models).

He then stated that Dell was having problems specifically with the WXGA+ 1440x900 screen and said that he ended up changing the screen size on several of his orders to WXGA 1280x800 about 2 weeks ago. He says he's already received the orders...

Just my luck that my D630 is configured with a WXGA+ 1440x900....

its worth the wait for the wxga+ screen. i had both, and the amount of extra screen space is definitely worth the price.

    Very interesting news jameshurrell!

My ordered laptop has this screen... and my delivery date has been moved again and again... maybe because of that!

I am sick and fed up of waiting for my vostro 1400 with the 1440 x 900 screen

Is this also the case for 15,4" 1440x900 screens or just for the 14" ones?
