Depending on the DPI on your monitor, these images may not show up as exactly 15 inches on your screen (they do on mine at 96 DPI). However, they are accurate versions of how 1280x800, 1400x900 and 1680x1050 would look on a 15-inch screen. This is meant to give you a comparison of how the resolution would look at the standard DPI as opposed to the higher-res DPI of the three resolutions offered by Dell for their 15-inch screens :)

Thanks for this. I was worried that the WXGA would have huge icons and text.

They look good to me. Thanks for posting.
So is it hit or miss if you get one that appears "grainy"? So far I haven't seen any posts with the WXGA screens being the culprit but it's hard to tell if it's just one style/type/options screen.
I ordered the WXGA anti-glare so I'm hoping for the best.

Oh no, these aren't actually screenshots from a Dell screen, any graininess in these can be associated with my image compression :p Basically I found desktop screenshots at 1280x800, 1440x900 and 1680x1050, and then just resized them appropriately.

One thing, monitor sizes are 15.4 inches. Try resizing 1280x800 to 15.4inch and there should be no change.

Yeah that's probably true, I did use 15 inches in all my calculations, but you get the picture.

Not really since the difference between a 15" and 15.4" comparison is the blurriness you see in those images, sort of a misconception to onlookers.
