I'll be doing the typical things. Web browsing, word processing and some gaming. Which screen caters the best for these three things. This will be on a XPS M1530.

You'll probably be happiest using WXGA+.

I got the WXGA+ on my 1530, and I love it, it is a perfect size for me. I think WSXGA would be too small, and this looks amazing anyways, very crisp and clear!

Not sure if they offer it, but WUXGA 1920x1200 will make the image incredibly sharp and leave plenty of space for everything. It's also perfect if you plan on playing movies in 1080p and so fourth.

If not I would go with the WSXGA. There are 36.11% more pixels in a WSXGA screen than a WXGA+. Also funny to note that a WUXGA LCD has 119.62% more pixels than a standard WXGA.

Thus the more pixels the crisper the image.

Well Dell Australia only offers the options I listed in the thread title. Personally I think the resolution might a bit much with WSXGA

WXGA+ would be the best compromise.

WSXGA caters to these options the best for me. A sharper images, more text on the screen when reading.

Are dvd movies letterboxed at all when played on the higher resolution screens?
