    I know WMP does, but Songbird does too? I haven't tried Winamp or whatnot.

    You should be able to configure most media players to work with it.
    You have to set the hot keys in winamp's preferences (it works for my sager 5750).

    Great question. I guess it's naive to assume that all players would utilise Dell's proprietary layouts by default.

    I hope that the same compatibility can be found within the Expresscard remote.
