    Waiting for Vostro 1500

    I ordered a Vostro 1500 on Wednesday and just checked the order status online. It's going faster than I thought ^_^

    25-Jul-2007 Order Received
    25-Jul-2007 Order released to manufacturing
    26-Jul-2007 Ship from Factory
    27-Jul-2007 Loading for Export

    So excited. :D The estimated delivery date is Aug 2, but I hear they usually come way before that. Will keep my fingers crossed :).

    Windows Vista Business
    15.1" widescreen WXGA (1280 x 800) TFT with TrueLife

    At the speed yours is going it seems to arrive before the the estimated delivery.

    I'm in Western Australia. It seems like all the delivery delays I've read about were only on U.S. sites, so I don't know if Australia has the same problem. However, I still can't find any real reviews on the Vostro, even on Australian sites; not sure how many here have ordered and received it as of yet.

    Ok. It seems like everyone in the european area are experiencing delays. Its strange that everone who orderd the Vostro and the XPS M1330 is still in preproduction over here.

    Hmm, maybe we should move to Australia for a month, seems like they are getting these babies way faster than us... Only about a month to wait on mine....

    I ordered mine in 18/07, and shipping was 03/08.
    Now, it has been delayed. Shipping date is 28/08 (!!!!). Preproductions change date too, now is 28/07, not 18/07...

    Must I cancel it? :(

    Hmmm. Ordered mine at 18-7 and the bank transfered the money to Dell same day. Now (Saturday), the money has returned to my account. Strange. I've mailed Dell Support and waiting for reply.

    Like me. I think there's no problem.
    They block money, and when notebook is shipping, they cash the money.

    I ordered mine in 18/07 too; but today it has been delayed to 28/08... :mad:

    They're just testing your account to make sure you have the cash. They withdraw then put it right back- it's standard practice. You'll get billed when it ships.
