Okay, so I work for Wal-Mart in Electronics. I was there when receiving was unloading the Dell Inspiron 1318's and then I transported them back to Electronics lock-up bin in the warehouse. I have to say, not too shabby. Slim box, Dell has cut down on all that packaging they do with their computers.

Opened one up and I thought it was not only a great looking notebook for a 13.3", but very well built. The Pacific Blue LCD lid is really nice, it's a little glossy, not over the top, but looks good. Build quality is great as the keyboard has no flex and the display hinge is nice and firm and stays in place. The bottem of the notebook almost felt like a mix between mag-alloy and plastic, but whatever material was used, it's pretty well made. The fit and finish is great and really attractive.

I did buy one and think it's a nice computer. It may have an older processor in it, but it is dual-core. I highly recommend this notebook to anyone heading back to school or just needing a very good capable and atrractive notebook. I believe the $698 asking price is reasonable. If you work for Wal-Mart, it's even better ;).

I was surprised when I just got back from Wal-Mart and saw this notebook there. Does Dell plan on selling it through any other B&M or their online store?
