Walsh Western site and Delivery status

Hey everyone, I recently ordered a Dell Studio 1558. Dell claim it has been shipped, and on clicking the Walsh Western link, it gives me the Customer number not found etc dialog. I tried the methods mentioned to input my numbers manually, but it still says not found. What can i do? Thanks.

 

Copy the link from the browser window after clicking ok to the notification it doesnt match.

Now paste the link in a new IE browser window. On the customer number you will see it starts 021xxxxxx Delete the 1 and load the page.
It should now work for you.

Example:

This tracking page hasnt worked for years, you would think someone at Dell would actually correct it!

My 1749 was ordered on 11/02/10, I got an EDD of 26th. It went into production on the 16th and shipped on the 17th. but it completely depends on stock levels for your particular config

 

Umm it worked fine for my order. I can't remember if I was using FF or Chrome but clicking the link on the Dell page took me to the order tracking page for my parcel. How bizzare.

I got a automated call to confirm a delivery date of Tuesday but my order status still says in production..could it be wrong?

 

I just checked my order on Walsh Western and it left Chins warehouse at 7.30PM last night but no other updates. Does it normally take this long to get to the UK from China?

Also it still says in production on Dell Order status page ha ha

I'm in practically the same boat at the moment; ordered mine on the 15th and received a call to confirm the delivery time (tuesday the 23rd). However, the progress on my order looks something like this:

"19/02/10 16:35 IVR-OUTBOUND 23/02/10 AM DEL. SCHEDULED DELIVERY DATE.
19/02/10 16:35 IVR-OUTBOUND AM DELIVERY.
19/02/10 16:15 CHINA DEPARTED MANU.FACILITY
19/02/10 13:28 CALL LOCK OUT."

This really worries me. I don't want to "skip" work for nothing. Can anyone else tell us what might be happening? Thanks in advance.

 

mine is same exp the last thing was departed china manu.

I am taking a day off uni too on tuesday so just to be sure il call them tomorrow to make sure my laptop has arrived in the UK. I dont expect a update untill they get the laptop in the UK warehouse and scan it in so that wont be untill tomorrow hopefully.

I'm getting bored of waiting (lol), although i'm not being as patient as i should be. Chances are they'll update the order progress in the morning (between 01:00 and 12:00 i reckon) and then pass it to the delivery company. Let me know if your order gets an update or something, i'll do the same.

Just a quick update.
Its 9.30am and still no update on the Walsh Western website.

 

Keep your hopes up mate, there's still a good chance you'll get it. I've heard on other forums that the order status on the walsh site is slow or delayed. Even so, i'm gonna stay positive about the situation (still not changed). And to be completely honest: since they rang up i imagine they'll have it in a local depot for both of our orders. I mean...why ring to set an EXACT date for delivery if it's still in china or somewhere else? That'd be a pointless exercise, don't you think?

Am taking day off uni for this.

 

I'm lucky because i can study from home (open uni student of course), which in most cases is awesome. I doubt i'll do any "studying" when my laptop arrives though, since i ordered a few semi-old pc games to load onto it (dawn of war and guild wars) as soon as i've set it up.

I just don't see where the logic lies with ringing up to confirm the delivery time if our orders aren't in a local depot, or at least in the uk. Dell have been fast with dispatching so all should be well.

 

Well I aint heard alot of good things about Walsh Western, some people have had thier orders not given to the local courrier for days before. WW are using UKMail for mine which again are known for problems. What company are they using for you? I would prefer UPS like some people are getting.

 

Unforunately i wasn't the one who answered the phone so i'm a little unsure what was said, and my mum didn't say anything about a delivery company. I'll ask her again later. There doesn't seem to be anything regarding the company delivering my laptop on both the dell and walsh site, so i currently have no clue what to expect.

EDIT: It's meant to be delivered on the 23rd, but by whom i have no idea.

 

The phone call wont say. You need to go to the WW tracking page and it will say by Carrier Code/Description in the top half. BPO is UKMail, UPS and TNT are other omes.

EDIT: Does yours give 23/02/10 as ETA or does ETA say something else?

 

ETA: " ETA Carrier will phone customer to arrange suitable delivery date ". Is this a facepalm moment?

Mine is Core i3 1564. but GMA HD gfx as I save money as I already got a gaming rig.

 

Naah, just a 2.2 ghz dual-core. It should be extremely powerful compared to my old laptop so I'm happy with the choice. 512 megs of graphics, a 250 gig hdd and 3 gigs of ram.

Old laptop: 1.6 ghz, 1 gig of ram, 128 megs of shared graphics (rofl) and an 80 gig hdd.

Edit. That means they have got the delivery arrangements and have told the carrier to pick it up. Should leave for Bristol tonight hopefully. Yours should say what carrier they using by now. if it don't then call them and ask.

 

I'm ok with any delivery company, and I'll be waiting in the front room all day just to make sure I don't miss it lol. It should change again soon.

Nah no update. There will be a update when its scanned into our local depot and then another update when its out for delivery. Mine is due 8am to 12pm.

 

And here too. I'm looking forward to having a new lappy, this is my first time buying a new pc so i'm hyped.

How much of a gamer are you? I've never had a gaming pc because i've stuck with console gaming (mainly due to my friends and family doing the same).

 

Not a huge gamer that plays it all day long. I only play certain games for hours at a time really, I got a PS3 but cant afford to buy many games but am looking forward to Final Fantasy 13. Loved Crysis Warhead on PC.

This will be my 2nd laptop, first one was £800 Acer that was pretty good when it came out, could play almost all games of its time. Thats before I had my PS3 or PC.

 

I'm not a huge gamer either (i can admit to being lazy but i could ever sit on my 360 24/7). I just enjoy playing multiplayer games with my friends (like cod mw2).

I'd like a powerful desktop pc but i could never justify saving and then spending that much money on one.

EDIT: Oh, and about FF13...My brother will be buying that. Always loved the music on those games, and the combat system as well.

 

They ruined it. it was meant to be open world but cause of 360 they had to close it off and had to crank down gfx effects.

 

I didn't know that. I thought it was going to have more discs and nothing would change?

Microsoft need to add a blu-ray drive to their next system. I'm on my third 360 right now (i think heat is the main problem). I did have a PS3 at one point but i sold it because i didn't know anyone else with one at the time.
