Hi there.
Just a fresh member here who have a question.
I would like to upgrade my vista to 7 so I stopped at a point which I couldn't make my mind and want some help with it. I am somehow not sure which version to consider.
I will take home premium but which bit. 64 or 32 bit.
The reason why I am confused is if I go with 32-bit I will take the upgrade and it will be cheaper. Also, it will keep my current files and program (as I understand) without deleting them.
If I want to go with 64-bit system, I should buy a new full version and I should perform a clean installation (format and install). I must install all the programs again. Just a long way lol.
This is my current specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 2.0Ghz.
Kingstone RAM Memory 4GB 667 total (1GB originally)
WD Scorpio Black 500GB 7200rpm (120GB originally)
Intel 965 Graphics Card (in performance information it shows me that it have 128MB dedicated ram and 230MB shared ram)
Vista home premium 32-bit
I use it some times for design and watching movies or TV shows on 720p.
So, which one will be better for my notebook. Does going with 32-bit will waste some of my RAM Memory?? and will I be able to remove dell original partitions if I go with 64-bit? (I don't see any benefit to let them in my device if I choose 64bit)
That's all for now![]()

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
The 32bit version won't be able to address all of your memory, but if you are largely just watching media and are more concerned about just keeping your stuff around, I don't think there's that much benefit to being able to use the full 4GB.
That being said, I don't think you need to buy the full version just to go 64bit. I'm fairly certain you can buy an upgrade and the upgrade will let you do a clean install.
And yes, you can remove the Dell partitions with both versions.
Want to Upgrade my Inspiron 1520 to 7, just a small question ??
