I have never dropped a laptop on the sidewalk or anything like that, but does anyone know if Dell makes a laptop that is more rugged than usual? I am always on the move and so is the laptop. Have a budget of $800 to $900. Thanks, appreciate your advice. :D

Put that 3000 or 2500 for an XPS instead. If you're not an adventurer to the forest , you probably won't need this laptop.

The latitude line, though I dunno if they be obtained for under 1k.
Getting a thinkpad might be another option if you want something rugged

Even if you would use it outside under rugged conditions, I still wouldnt pay around $3000 for a rugged D620.

I agree that you should look at thinkpads.

Thanks everyone for the ideas. My employer has some kind of contract with Dell and so it is assumed that It'll be a Dell. But a couple of you recommended Thinkpads, what is the difference? is it the same as a laptop basically? (Clueless newbie question I am afraid). Thanks.
