    Want to connect my 1720 to my HD TV

    How do I do it?

    I have a GeForce 8600GT but I cannot see a DVI port?

    Also, my TV only supports 720p via the PC input but 1080p out of all of the others. So ideally I would like it the some kind of VGA -> HDMI or DVI -> HDMI cable or VGA -> Component.

    Just go to dells website. There is an adapter that connects to your tv out port that gives you component and surround sound out. I am using it on my 1520 with no problems.

    There are multiple ways to connect your laptop to your TV. If your laptop doesn't have an HDMI outlet, you can get a VGA to RCA components cable to keep everything in one cable or use S-Video for the image and a 3.5mm to RCA component for the sound.

    VGA to DVI connectors are dirt cheap.
