Where can I buy this at a reasonable price? I am mainly doing this to help boost gaming. I can find notebook RAM, I just don't know what is good and bad or compatable for that matter.

For compatibility either 533 or 667 MHz memory will be fine. It is better to go with reputable bands. Corsair, Kingston and G.Skill to name a few. Any of these should work. Hope this helps.

If you're in the US, it's a great place to start. You need 200 pin SODIMM memory. Get pc53/5400 or pc 42/4300. There will be little difference. I have had no problems with so called "value-ram"--I don't think it's worth it to spend a bunch for corsair only to put it in a laptop. Desktop, maybe.

Your notebook will only accept one type of RAM. It depends on what processor you have. If you have an Intel Core Duo or Core 2 Duo, Pentium M or Celeron M, then you will need to get DDR2 specification RAM. If your using a newer Turion X2, then its DDR2 aswell. Some AMD's use a DDR specification.

If you visit crucial.com, you can use their memory advisor tool to help select the correct memory, and if you use IE you can use their system scanner.

I bought 2 x 1 gig sticks of ADATA from ebay for my E1705, works like a charm. :D

I used 2x 1GB 667MHz Corsair Value Select in my 640m (e1405). Worked without any hassles.
