I am posting this to save time and headaches for all 6000 users who are looking to get the Verizon Wireless Broadband card. The Verizon service is great but the latest broadband cards have a problem with the 6000. This is a problem with the mother board of the 6000. I have a 6000 and want to get one of the broadband cards. When researching them I luckily came accross the issue.
These 2 links go more indepth on the issue:

I love my 6000 and want to get the Verizon KPC650 broadband card and will get one once I find the resolution.
Here are some details I have found so far:
It appears to be with mother boards made before May 20, 2005 with these cards:
KPC650
V620
5740
The older 5220 seems to work fine.
Appearently you have to get a mother board replacement from Dell.

Well looks like you might have to buy a 5220 Verizon card from someone other than Verizon. Other than that, i dont think there can be solution. I would try getting a new motherboard but other than that, i dont think you can do much.
Have you had this laptop for under 21 days?
