I plan on buying a Dell and would need some feedback

I would like to take the basic warranty because I will be using an american express card that adds 1 year to the manufacturer's warranty. I'm just wondering if "1 Year Limited Warranty w/1 Year Return To Depot Service"
is even worth it or should I get complete care. I'll be bringing this laptop to school occasionally(once or twice a week), and don't drink coffee over the keyboard :).

What is return to depot service?

It will be standard manufacturers warranty. Return to depot, they either repair or replace if faulty. Replacement machine can be sent if deemed necessary. you do not have a choice over replacement machine, but typically it will be equal or better than spec of old machine. It will typically not be a new machine.

Complete care has better cover and they will send people out to you for faults rather than requiring you to return to base.

Can I suggest that if you are considering buying a Dell that you discuss these options with a dell representative. Not because I'm being lazy, but because then you can be sure the information you are getting is accurate and up to date.

I always like have the complete care, because I would rather have OnSite Technicians, come to me to repair....vs. sending out for depot service.

I don't want anyone else handling my lappy, when I'm not around.

It all depends, on your needs as such....how long you plan on keeping the lappy, what is in your budget when purchasing the lappy, etc.
