I recently sent a few emails to customer care, and on the 3rd one after noting that the Sales Team didn't help:

    Dear xxx:

    Thank you for the reply.

I understand that you have contacted the Sales Team. I will assist you further.

I have contacted the Manufacturing Team and was informed that the High Resolution glossy widescreen for the Laptop will be LG and not Samsung.

If you would like to view the status of your order(s) online please visit

    Thank you for choosing Dell.

Besides notebookreview.com I also visit another forum here in The Netherlands where people are talking about their Dell laptops.

The past week or two people are reporting that they're getting their XPS M1530's with 1680 x 1050 LG screens, and not with Samsung screens. It seems like Dell has stopped using the bad Samsung screens, or at least in this part of the world.

I'm waiting for my M1530, I'll get it on Monday. I've ordered a 1680 x 1050 screen, I'm hoping it will be an LG.
