I ordered a laptop from Dell on October 1st over the phone. Immediately after I placed the order, I looked it up on dell's website to make sure it had gone through. The status said "In Production." So then I called the 800 number that gives you an automated message about your order status (yes, I'm anxious), and the recording said "Your order was received today and is currently being processed." So I thought that was weird that the website and phone service were telling me two different things.
So the next day I checked the website and it still said "In Production" and I called the number and it said my order was still "being processed." Also, on the website under Billing Information, it said "Bill to: N/A" and I was concerned that maybe my billing information was wrong. I called the number again and spoke to someone and she said the billing information would show up when my laptop was shipped. She also said it was in production.
I called today and it still says my order is being processed and the website still says it's in production, so I'm confused on which one is right. Obviously I hope the website is correct, but if it isn't then it seems like my order has been processing for a long time. So when you ordered your computer, did you find that there was a disconnect between what the website reported and what the phone reported? Or were they consistent with each other?
I'm anxious about this, but who isn't after ordering a laptop? No one, that's who.

It doesn't sync up usually, and their estimated ship dates and such are always over estimated. By the time it updates with the right information your system will have shipped.

Ok thanks for that!
Website says one thing, phone service says another
