    Hi everyone,

since I am looking for a notebook with a SSD drive, I was considering buying the new Latitude D430. However, I can't find any information concerning its price with the SSD. I think I have seen it weights around 3.22 pounds (1.46 kgs) with a standard drive and the middle battery. Do you think the SSD reduces the weight a lot?

Any other informations on the D430?
    Thanks

Highly doubt it, given the 2.5" notebook HDDs weigh next to nothing in the first place.

What do you mean by "next to nothing"?
I guess it weights at least 0.3 Kg (0.66 lbs) right?
So maybe you can gain something like 0.3 lbs, which is not negligible for this kind of ultraportable in my opinion (even though I agree one would hardly feel the difference in a bag. However, I have an asus U1F and I can feel the difference between the small and the middle battery whereas they are only 0.4 lbs apart...)

Not sure what kind of HDD comes in the latitude, but just for example, the Western Digital Scorpio drive is listed at 0.26 lbs. / 0.117 kg.

I could not find this type of hard drive anywhere. It seem like this type of hd for the D430 goes all the way to 100 gb only. It is definately not a 2.5" hd.
