Hey all,
I'm gonna come clean this is my first laptop, but I'm not anywhere close to PC-Stupid. I recently got a 1520, the day they released them and before they became hyped and delayed from demand.
It arrived like 3 weeks later and all is good within 2 hours of arrival I reformatted the drive and stuck a clean copy of vista on, get rid of all that crappie trial software.
Now recently, I noticed when I open it up or even close it, it makes a weird clicking noise.. Then times like right when I'm typing this it's fine.. Honestly it's not big deal but I'm not sure if I should worry or not.
just between you and me, I ripped this laptop apart, I took the hinge hover off, the keyboard out and the screen bezel and removed the screen. Nothing is broke or even looks like it was tampered with (by me) and no I ain't crazy for the record
. At first, after throughly looking at everything I thought it was the microstain pieces just rubbing against each other like typical plastic usually does. But I discovered the hinge was making the click sound. I looked it over very well, moved it around, no damage, no difference between the two, although the left one was the only one making the sound.
So, anyone else experience this? Should I make a big deal and scream at dell or let it slide.. MAYBE IT NEEDS OIL!.. lol Random idea.
Otherwise this laptop is perfect..
Oh..Anyone not recommend playing games like HL2 on this machine due to possible heat or something? Run perfectly at 250fps.. but I don't know what a laptop is capable of without like melting or something.. gimmie some advice as far as that goes..
Thanks.. lookin forward to become part of this awesome community
