Well my dell inspiron saga is continuing! Finally ordered my new SSD's and battery.

So I have been going back and forth on what drives to buy for my two dells. I have settled on Kingston A400s. NOPE, not the fastest drives, but from reviews from owners, they are very reliable and still give a BIG speed boost in the systems they are installed in. I also have a 3rd party battery coming for my 13 5000, and a cool travel charger instead of taking the brick around with us. We have a new style wall wart type charger to make our setup more compact. I can't wait to get the new drives (480gb for the 11 3000 and 960gb for the 13 5000) installed and freshly updated to the latest version of windows 10.

I will review the drives in both devices as soon as I get everything up and running on them. Hopfully I can just ghost the two drives.

 

Well, you can probably Image them and then restore those images after you remove the old and install the new SSD Macrium Reflect Free would do a good job of that. It would be fairly tricky to clone an m.2 SSD if you only have 1 slot.

 

I have a usb drive that I used last time with a certian piece of software, worked then.

 

You know I'm always a big fan of doing a fresh install on a fresh drive. Why carry over the problems of the past, lol. I realize some people have software and optimizations and such, but to me it's worth it.

 

Both are very recent installs that I just did when my drive failed. So no reason to really.

 

Well, I installed my ssd today, and loaded a clean install of 10 pro on it. Works super fast like my wife’s 11 3000. I’m very impressed with the Kingston ssd for a budget solution.
