Depot Repair status shows
"9/5/2012 4:41:25 PM CST : Parts Hold: A component necessary to repair your unit is currently not in stock."
What happens in this instance? Kind of frustrated here, I sent my laptop back last month and the depot sent it back without repairing everything, so I had to send it back again and now I've got this message.
Of course, while this is happening my 14Z decides to crap out, the repair guy came over and replaced the motherboard and the original problem was solved but now my speakers don't work....
All the while school started two days ago and I'm without my computer I use to take to school - my 17" sager is like 15 pounds and won't fit in my backpack.

Hi Docrock,
What kind of warranty do you have?
Since it looks like tech set up an onsite service and the original issue was repaired, can I ask you to troubleshoot the sound issue?
Plug in your headset or external speakers and see if it has sound to verify it isnt a sound card issue. If the headset or external speakers work, I can set up a service to replace the speakers. If nothing worked, no sound regardless of using internal or external speakers I suggest running sound diagnostics. If that also fails, we can discuss the option of replacing the system board again.
Can you please send me your name, service tag and any case numbers in a PM so I look up your case?
Thanks,
Mourin -
Sound works with USB headset and HDMI output. I've contacted technical support about it and they are sending a tech to replace the speakers now in 1-2 business days.
However, I'm still in the dark about the parts hold, which I'll send you a PM about as I've got no point of contact at dell depot. -

Thank you for the quick response. I'll look up the case and touch base with the rep working on it and let you know when I hear back.
