Hey all, just ordered a E1505 with the $100 and $750 off coupons. I was planning on removing the Dell included hard drive, sticking it in a box and letting it sit. I was going to replace it with either a 120GB 5400 rpm drive or a 100GB 7200 rpm drive and wanted SPECIFIC drive recommendations.
I need SATA correct?
This will allow me to install a completely clean copy of XP with only the soft ware I want on it and if I have a serious issue, I can pull out the untouched other HD and reinstall it if it need to go back to dell.
Thanks for any help,
Shoe

I have a 60gb 7200 rpm hard drive in mine. My buddy has a 5400 rpm in a similar laptop. It is truly amazing the difference in normal everyday tasks. I do not have any benchmarks other than personal experience, but I will never order a 5400 in any of my future laptops.

There are tow 7200RPM choices; the Hitachi 7k100 and the Seagate 7200.1. The Hitachi is a little faster. Seagate runs cooler and quieter. All around they are pretty similar in performance.
