Edited post!! I did by two laptops a Dell 1530 with a bad LCD and a Sony FZ290 with a bad keyboard. Both returned!! Really liked the Dell but did not go through a bunch of crap to get a good display. So i decided on another desktop. I will get another laptop later when screen issue gets addressed. So for now i got a better desktop. I just thought I would post my reason why I did wht I did.

But there are to many idiots that must respond that don't have anything positive to contribute when they should just keep the big mouth shut. Sorry I offended people about posting that I purchased a desktop in a notebook forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you're trying to tell us you can get a better value on a desktop than a laptop for around the same price, we already knew that. There's some of us who like to carry our computer around with is, though.

Most obvious post yet for the year? lol

You know you're better off just not posting. Of coarse we all know you can get a better deal on a desktop over a latop. I just decided to go this route since Dell has not fixed the bad screen issue with the 1530 without going through a bunch of crap. I'll just get another laptop later.

Quad core, nice. Your post seems relevant to me, but then, I'm not jealous.

I don't get it? You're bragging that you overpaid for a dell desktop? What would you like? A pat on the back? Round of applause?

Kinda hard to carry it around to do work or play! Do you regret buying a desktop instead of a laptop and want someone to justify your decision? It's a nice rig BTW, have fun. I have an HP mini-desktop multimedia center (s3120n) with wireless, and TV tuner and yet don't really take advantage of all it's features. I just use it for internet and occassional photo and video editing. Only buy what you need otherwise you're paying too much.

I did exactly the same as this guy, had three 1520's with grainy screens so I ordered an XPS 420 desktop.

I liked it for about 6 hours then I realised what it meant to be stuck in the same place using a computer, I hated it :( . Luckily Dell UK let me return it for a refund after having it for 3 weeks (usually 1 week in UK) because it kept randomly crashing :D

Now I'm back to laptops and it's definitely the right choice for me, I can no longer stand desktops.

Again more responded than not. Just thought that I would post my thoughts why I did what I did. Maybe when most of you move out of your moms house you won't need to carry it around so much. YFAH's.

So when someone makes a comment you don't like that makes that someone an idiot. And somehow when others dislike you're comment, they're still the a$$swipe. I am sorry but you are not contributing anything positive around here too, not with the "Maybe when most of you move out of your moms house you won't need to carry it around so much." comment.

This is a forum, where people can discuss what they want (like what you are doing), so who are you to judge what is positive and what is negative? Unless you want to contribute, don't go acting all arrogant and post pointless threads!

I don't really get it, because wouldn't we be moving around less if we lived in our parent's house? I'm a college student, so a laptop just made perfect sense. If you had a few bad experiences, that happens to everyone who owns any kind of computer. But overall, laptops are definitely outselling desktop PCs by a large margin, and are set to overtake them in the near future. It's just the way things are now (not saying I'm jumping on the bandwagon, but I see why they're so popular). When you're as heavily involved as I am in college and clubs, you'd want a laptop as well.

You're better off posting desktop threads in the DESKTOP forum. Screw off.

Each system has their advantages. For a laptop I can take it with me on trips. Desktop for more intensive work with a larger screen.

LOL.. living with my parents! LOL

BTW you have other options where to get your laptop. Didn't have to stay with DELL!

KLM is one of those who will NEVER be satisfied. Pessimistic, always looking for fault. Its only a mater of time before he finds something wrong with his desktop and starts begging for compensation....
