I never knew about the nvidia and the stupid faulty 8600 cards until i accidently saw it today. It makes sense why my laptop freezes when it comes out from sleep mode.

Now the question is what are Dell UK doing? I know my laptop is failing now. Can you get your money back because i don't want mine replaced by another faulty 8600 card.

I have a inspiron 1520 with 8600m gt. Its 1 year and 2 or 3 weeks old now. Fortunately i got 3 year warranty.

Somehow I doubt your sleeping issue is related to the NV defect... More like driver/Vista issue.

Its definitely the card if im not mistaken. Its where it freezes cause its the hot cold cycle when u switch it on and off. I would have listed everything else but i didnt think it was needed.
But also temperature is going to 80+ non clocked card and blue lines and stuff like that. The usual things that were happening to ppl

    Agreed that's not a hardware defect. :)

To the OP do a search as their are numerous post regarding Dell laptops not coming out of sleep mode. As for your dilemma not to worry as you're covered for another 2 years and if your card is going to fail it will happen before your warranty is over.

What are the blue lines you're refering to? Do you get artifacts while gaming?

sorry to hijack the thread. I've started to get artifacting, as soon as i start my laptop, i have to move the screen around to get get rid of it, so i'm not so sure about the actual card, it seems to be more of a faulty connection. My laptop isn't a year old yet so should dell fix it for free?
