Hi NBR,
Dell sent me an email last week telling me that my notebook will be here on Sept. 8 (Monday).
Last time they shipped a notebook, DHL called to inform me and ask if I would be home during the dropoff time, one day before they came to do so.
Today is Sunday and I'm sure DHL won't call because of that. Do you think they'll try delivering it anyway?
Thanks

DHL is a ridiculously stupid company. I wouldn't expect ANYTHING out of them in a timely fashion.
Plan on it arriving on Wednesday. I'm serious. -
tracking number...?
-
Same exact thing for me. Supposed to arrive tomorrow, I have doubts. It's already in my borough, I should pick it up myself.
-
Do you have a tracking number? If you don't, go check your account status online at dell.com...(it should have the tracking number there)...
Nope, DHL is closed today!
Tomorrow morning, call Dell and ask them to provide you with a tracking number (if you don't have it), and ask them to provide you with the latest and greatest. They can do this for you (was done for me).
Now, when I was waiting for my 1530 to be delivered, it was delivered on date that was told to me
So, I always try to remain *optimistic*....and let's just assume there's a great chance you will have it on 9/8

It's weird that Dell uses DHL to deliver, usually they go with UPS or FedEx.
-
I was thinking the same
I got mine with UPS too (and perfectly *on* time)... is it something like country / region specific?? anyways...
Hope the OP gets his/her system soon
Good luck.

For Asia DHL is better, but for the other part of the world, it's either UPS or FedEx.
-
Hey yah Han!
Dell has always used DHL, where I am
And, I've never had any prob's...
-
DHL delivered mine and never called to see if anyone would be home.
-
In Canada Dell uses Purolator by the way.
-
Ooish...that's not good...Was anyone there to receive it?
That's what I'm seeing...how are they?

Awesome, I'm in Brooklyn so I hope they do the same. Someone is 95% of the time home here. I would love to come home to a M4400 after school tomorrow.
-
That's a great possibility! I hope it arrives, you've been looking for a long time, and finally found the one you wanted!

Yes, and you've been with me on this journey all the way. You deserve cake!
-
my dhl delivery guy is awesome....he's always shows up the same time when I order something. I just wish he delivered on the weekends
-
Purolator is awesome, aside from the office closing at 5:00 there to pick up packages when you weren't home, doesn't leave much time for my parents to get home with the car at 4:20ish.
Extremely fast, and I haven't ever heard of them losing anything.
Crossing my fingers that I get my E6400 by the end of the week.

Cake is something I enjoy on occasion!
Serious...I hope you get it tomorrow for sure!
*fingers crossed*

Hehe, I've already experienced the unboxing and handling before I sent it back for a refund, so I guess I'm a little less excited than I was the first time (the long wait time killed the buzz a little). I'm just looking forward to a working laptop tomorrow. Perhaps with some bonus accessories (wishful thinking at this point, methinks). Thanks for all your replies, and I hope you get yours tomorrow, I♥RAM!
Here's to hoping it arrives fully working without any defect(s)! -

I ended up having to pick up my laptop at the DHL terminal because DHL just could NOT understand that I was not available at 11 in the morning. I kept rescheduling deliveries after 12pm but wouldn't do that.
What are the chances my XPS will be delivered tomorrow (Monday)?
