Is there anything that anyone can think of that should be done to the XPS M1530 or it's replacement to truly make it the nicest buy? I assume they have a comprehensive time table to when they up the ante on features. I am waiting for a video adapter more powerfull than the 8600GT. By the way exactly what adapter would this be? And when?

For your first question - make it out of pure gold, goldmember!

For your second - never. Dell wants you to buy Alienware for high end graphics.

I'd say the biggest is make all resolutions LED lit and have illuminated keyboards.

I would go for a Platinum version... Would go well with my wedding band and amex card... :D

Seriously, wasn`t there a similar thread recently about improvment to the line?

I would say illuminated keyboard would be great.

So you think gold is nice, thats nice.
What does ASUS have up there arm covers? Maybe I should look at there 1000 model lineup soon.

Haha, good call. No matter how many times you tell people that though, they still demand 8800 cards and Intel extreme processors.

Realistically though, I think the addition of illuminated keyboards would definitely be a major boost. Also, and this isn't a m1530 thing but more of a dell thing, I think that they need to improve customer service and build quality because all those horror stories people hear really turn them off of it.

I still say illuminated keyboards. Even if they could fit 8600GTX or whatnot, power consumption would be crazy, and thing about the size of that heatsink that will go with it. X_X

i didn't mean a desktop card. just a better 8600 would be nice or 8700. not everything needs to 88.

LED screens for all resolution options and illuminated keyboard will make the M1530 'perfect' in my opinion.

    Keep selling it.

No, really, I just ordered one and if everything works properly, it'll be one sweet notebook for a total of $1600. Maybe fix the quality control issue with the screens for once and for all. Other than that, I dunno? Chocolates in the delivery box?

Standard backlit keyboards, since the new Inspirons will have that as an option. LED backlight matte screen options for all resolutions. Cheaper BD drive. eSATA port. Display Port as the standard video-out port.

Think of how pricey LED backlit screens would be for higher resolutions. It's a $150 upgrade from a CCFL 1440x900 screen to LED, so it would probably be roughly the same for the 1920x1200 making the total upgrade cost of that at least an additional $300. To me, 1440x900 is perfect for 15", but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Well of course, they'd be options for those who could afford them. Wouldn't be forcing LED backlit high resolution screens on everyone.

Think about the actual cost of LED displays. The LED technology actually saves more money for the manufacturer. They just overprice it thats all.

It would be so cool if they made the illuminated keyboard work similar to the previous XPS laptop where you could adjust the color of LEDs through a control panel. So you could have the LED backlit keyboard be blue, red, orange, yellow, blacklight, or just about any style and color imaginable. It would be bliss!

Alienware m15x perhaps? As badass as that is, I would settle for just a plain white/light blue backlit keyboard since I wouldnt use any of those other colours anyway. Still entertaining for a while though.

more than likely, they'll switch it up to a 9500m gt (currently found in asus notebooks only - equiv to 8600m gt gddr3) or a 9600m gt
