    What can you replace w/o voiding warranty?

    Dell will allow HDD and RAM last I checked. Definitely not video card and maybe on the optical drive. If these are critical issues you should call in to verify this.

    just swap the original components back in before returning it if something goes wrong. :D

    i wouldnt go replacing anything where you have to break any "breaking this will void your warranty" seal though :eek:

    I'm confused on this as well....according to their site (see link below) you are allowed to make changes to your system and it will not void your warranty. Like Brian, I thought the video card would void your warranty, but by all indications on their website, it doesn't. Even their moderators on the forums say you can change the video card out and it won't void your warranty. HOWEVER, if any problems should occur because of your new installation (like it causes motherboard to fry) or you break something while you have your system open......you'll be on your own.

    If something should happen and you call Dell, they have the right to ask you to insert the old hardware into the system. If you plan on doing anything outside of the RAM and HDD department, you really should contact Dell and verify the warranty issue. I don't trust thier website.
