Looking at the Studio 15. I've had 15" Dells in the past and always got 1680x1050. Thought it was a great resolution. Now they have 1920x1200 or 1440 x whatever but LED. What do you recommend?

1400x900 is the ideal resolution for a 15.4" screen. I have a 1680x1050 on my T60 and it's way to small. If I had real good vision it wouldn't be too bad.

My next 15.4" screen will come with a 1400x900 rez.

If you haven't seen WUXGA on a 15.4" notebook, I'd recommend doing so. Some people really like it, but I think most would find it to small.

For most peeps I'd say get the 1440 - purely on account of some people not liking small print sizes, though if you've always gotten 1680*1050 and you liked it.
Then I would say to get the 1920*1200 instead.

I have the wuxga on my 1530, I love it and since I've been using it, any other lower res screen just looks pixelated and annoys me when using it.

I would definitely reccomend the full hd screen and will be getting it on any laptops I buy in the future. I think its very hard to go back to a lower res screen after you've gotten used to a higher res one.

Get the 1440x900..you won't regret it. I checked out all the resolutions for my 1530, before ordering. And, am very happy I chose the 1440x900...It's great for the eyes, and just an awesome screen to look at all around! ;)

Be mindful of how important your screen res. is! It's the number one thing you will be looking at all the time whilst on your lappy! ;) :)

I'm surprised I haven't heard anything about LED vs non LED.

Get the LED if you can...MUCH better. I don't have it on my 1530 (it wasn't avail when I ordered 1/08)....IF I had the choice...I would have the 1440x900 in LED ;) :)

It's amazing, need I say more? :D The LED on my Studio 15 is one of the nicest I've seen. It's the LG panel and its stunning. I think the WUXGA is just a little too small for a 15 inch screen.

You can find many deals in the Outlet store. It is a bit harder to find the screen you want though since you can't search by it.

LEDs are brighter and offer better battery life, but do not enhance image quality. They have the same crappy viewing angles as most notebooks.

on my inspiron 6400 i had 1440 x 900... it's nice to have more desktop space. Being a web designer, I love having the highest resolution, on my studio 15, I have the 1920 resolution and I haven't complained since i got it :)

Are LED displays a little more "cold" in tone compared to their CCFL counterparts?
