I just got my Vostro 1500 and there seems to be alot of things on the start up menu :( .... I did order it without Norton, etc...but I am sure there might still be a bunch of crap I can delete.

So what can I delete that isn't used?

Everyone uses different things. How can we know what you use or don't use?

Start>Run>Msconfig and uncheck the boxes of the things you don't want to load when you start up. Also, try http://pcdecrapifier.com/

Yes, but he doesn't know what he needs or not...Therefore, if you don't know, just leave it alone. oK?

Thanks guys, yeah pretty broad question, I agree. I am giong to see what's in the start up and post here, if I don't know if I need it or not.

I just remember back when I got my last laptop.... Fast one day, slow then next :(

I just bought a Vostro and there was hardly anything installed. I uninstalled google toolbar, google desktop, and the dell service thing.

I decided not to do a fresh installation of windows because this one is clean.
