For your purposes, it should be sufficient. However, you might want to consider a smaller form factor for better mobility; that is, unless you're buying for the screen. You can also probably get a better configuration for $1100. My S15 (see signature) cost about that much.

You can probably get a much better deal from the dell outlet on a system with similar or better specs. You could save at least $300-400 off that price on one from the outlet.

With tax, free shipping and 3 year complete care (I am rough on laptops) it came to a little under $1100.00. I am having some issues and Dell is replacing the motherboard today. If you are patient and wait for coupons, you can snag some great deals at the outlet and will get your laptop much faster. I just wish mine had a backlit keyboard.......

There's nothing wrong with buying refurbished. I've bought over 20 Dell's from the outlet, and if there is a problem with them, Dell fixes it just like it was a new computer. And I haven't had any major issues with any refurbished computers I've bought. Even the scratch and dent's look like brand new!

I got a Studio 17 a few months back with the 2.16 processor, 320GB HDD, and Blu-Ray Drive for $901 shipped. Everything else was similar to yours too. I know that you can find one for less now though. Use one of those 20% off coupons.

hey do u guys know which Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium Edition SP1 Dell use in their Studio laptop? Is it 32bit or 64bit. Coz if its 64bit then I need to choose 4G of RAM to go with.
