I've been trying to get a 9 cell battery for my M1330 for almost 20 days now. I placed my initial order back on the days of the cheap battery rush and paid a total of $80 for an adapter and 9 cell. Since that time, my order has been delayed 3 times. I call Dell a week ago and was told they had absolutely no 9 cell batteries for the M1330 in stock and it would be "a very long time". A rep even tried to replace my order with a refurbished 9 cell, but they had none of those either. Now, the 9 cell battery is still for sale on the Dell site for $179. I might very well cancel my order and buy this battery, but what's the use if they have none? I called Dell 5 times today. No one would tell me if the battery is in stock and there was little information about my order. So what does it take to get a 9 cell battery for the M1330? I've gotten 2 replacement M1330 laptops, but I can't even get a 9 cell battery

I initialy got tue computer with the 9 cell, but i got the 6 cell, thanks to the delays, i insisted and got it for free, and now i think ordering the 9 cell was a mistake, i dont know what i would do only with the 9 cell, it is heavy and really big, i uase it only when i am at home, if you dont have think it twice are you willing to have a compact but really heavy laptop

Thanks, maybe i'll just stick to the 6 cell. I guess it's hard to imagine how heavy it makes the laptop.

The weight difference between the 6 cell and 9 cell isn't that much. I have the 9 cell, but would also like to get a 6 cell (which I didn't order originally) because of the way the 9 cell protrudes.

I like the extra capacity, but don't really like the design all that much. I do like the way it angles up the laptop which makes it a little easier to type on however.

I would get a 9 cell to use only when travelling and use the 6 cell when at home or somewhere you know you'll be able to power up.

BUT, Dell now wants like $180 for a 9 cell!! That is waaaaay too much money IMO....

Although numbers alone won't give you an exact idea, the 9-cell weighs about 1/3lb (150gm) more. If you place one of the batt. in each hand, i'm sure the difference will be impressive, but when comparing the overall weight of the Notebook ( 4.4 vs. 4.75lbs or 2.0 vs. 2.15Kg), the difference is not as alarming. Considering the 13.3" macbook w/6-cell weighs 5lbs (2.3Kg), the M1330 is still looking rahter good :)

Btw, all figures quoted above were taken from the Reviewpub's excellent review.

    Same here, over 30 days.

The annoying thing is for every delay, you need to contact Dell and say you still want the battery.

But when my M1330 was delayed for almost 60 days, I never had to contact Dell at all.

I guess they don't want to supply these batteries at that price, but thats too bad.
