This is one of a couple problems.
1)something happened to your hdd drivers (corrupted deleted virus etc)
    2)Your hard drive is bad
3)This one is out there but the cable connecting the hdd to the mobo may be loose if there is one. Reseat it if you can.

You can try to boot up into recovery mode with a windows xp cd if you have 1 and run chkdsk /f. This may fix your problem and boot you back up. I would back up all your important stuff and look for a good deal on a 2.5" drive in the next couple weeks. The drive will probably fail again soon.

If it finds nothing and the error continues try reinstalling xp to an alternate directory (not c:\windows) Then backup all you important junk (porn resumes illegally downloaded music etc) Then do the all important full format and reinstall.

If this doesnt work go to newegg.com and buy a new 2.5" ata and procede to step #3. Don't get too frustrated. The system is trying to boot so it doesnt look like anything worse than a bad hdd
