    I am looking at purchasing a dell 1520 and I customized one the other day that would be Spring Green. Today I went and was messing around with some other creations and all of a sudden the 1520's and 1521's can only be customized in black, white blue, or red. Anyone have any idea on what happened overnight?

    Maybe they think decreasing color options on the 1520 will make buyers look at the 1530 more.

    @B2TheEYo: wow, how did you get 4134 3dMark06 on your 1520? I'm assuming that's OC'd, right?

    or, that the delay might be so huge, they would rather not offer it at all then make customers upset they have to wait such a long time for it to be built.

    Wow, I must've ordered my Midnight Blue 1520 just in time. (Though more and more I'm wondering if I should've chosen black. Must be anxiety...:/) When I ordered on the 29th, I don't think there was a mention of a delay...but with Xmas and all, they're likely selling like crazy. Probably they just ran out.

    They had these machines on The Shopping Channel, and if you ever watched it, those bastards make millions a day.. I think they sold over 45 thousand Dell Inspiron laptops alone on that one hour showing, could be the reason for the delay which resulted in pulled colors on Dells side.

    But we can speculate until we're blue in the face.

    scythie,
    It's OC'd slightly, not to much (500/425/975), but pushing it slowly. Mostly my system is just optimized. I found the less crap you have running when you do 3dmark, the higher you're score.. lmfao.. I can run 3D mark 4 times in a row and get slightly different results every time. I just ran it an hour ago with new drivers and got 4403..

    Or maybe they're starting to phase out the 1520 and then one day, ta-da! 1525/26. Lol.

    @B2TheEYo: lol, of course less programs running = better performance. So DDR2 isn't that far off from GDDR3, I guess?

    To be honest in my experience - I haven't found any differences when the only difference is the memory type and you over clock to compensate. But DDR3 can obviously over clock way higher.

    But that's me.

    All the colors are still offered on the Dell Canada site,
    http://configure.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=ca&CS=cadhs1&l=en&OC=N15202V_R_E
    http://configure.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=ca&CS=cadhs1&l=en&OC=N1521A2V_R_E
    but some colors will result in delays. So, I suspect that thwe is a temporary supply bottleneck.

    Personally, I don't expect the 1525/6 before Penryn comes out in January.

    Possibly due to being sold by the thousands on QVC shopping channel. Had a friend looking at buying one of these machines until I hold him the price I paid for my 1721 on the outlet.
