...because the website has an error in it's coding regarding the Warranty / virus protection. Anyone see a problem with this? Would it really delay my order?

The problem is if I choose "3Yr Ltd Warr,At-Home Service, and HW Warr Support plus Nights and Weekends [Included in Price]" I can't keep "I chose the promotional security package with service [Included in Price]" , even thought all XPS's come with 15 month protection. And there is no "I chose no protection" option, only things you have to pay for.

And here is the part that says they all get it:
Your system will automatically ship with a 90 day trial period of security software, except XPS systems which come standard with a minimum of 15-months of security. To help ensure your system stays protected beyond this period, Dell recommends you sign up now for an extended subscription.

I hope it wouldn't cause it to cancel or something...

Well, if no-one knows, should I just order it? Take bets on it? ;)
Or just pay the $80 for Norton?

Hmm I wouldnt order it with a configuration error, it could potentially mess up your order. I would get that Norton program just to be safe.

Sad, I wanted to use AVG and try out a free program on it too. I am so perplexed as to why they don't have an option to just get no anti-virus software...

are you ordering via epp? if so, choose the 3 or 4 year without the noob training/on call lengths - select the standard 3 or 4. Don't worry if you see this lame error message pop up.

Select the Complete Care radial button for the length you selected for warranty - 3 or 4 year.

Then select the AV of your choice, Norton or PC Cillin.

This will make that lame error disappear. It's up there to make you think you have no choice but to take the silver/gold/platinum warranties.

    Hope this helps.

Right, but I don't want ANY AV if I can help it. So I am stuck with some kind of error regardless if I want none as there is no option to be AV free :(

If you order an XPS system, it automatically comes with the 15-month antivirus subscription. I don't see what the error is.

Just uninstall the software if you don't want it... or you could try "returning" it to Dell; though some might consider that unethical.

    Ok, here is the problem.

If I choose the basic 3 year warranty, it tells me I have an error with " I choose the promotionally bundled A-V." It says I have to pick one that costs money. There is no option for no A-V, there is no option for the basic 15 month one. The EPP page was done wrong, so that you HAVE to pay for the basic 15 month set.

Guess I'll call today and raise a stink if they try to charge me for it (McAfee 15-month, right?). One guy in chat did say all XPS came with 15month free and admitted it was an error, I just wish I had saved that chat :(

You got it. Just call Dell and ask for a refund. They're usually pretty good about it... worse comes to worst, dispute the charge with your credit card company.

I think I'll save the config to my cart and call in to get the 15 free one. Just wanted to use 2 cards, so hopefully they'll do that right...

I got it with McAfee. If it's a problem once I get it, I'll call and complain. But they said it was impossible to get a limited warranty and not pay for AV. he said the 1210 packages were different than other XPS's.
