I've notice a ton of people saying they've called Dell to get them to expedite their orders. Now I'm curious what people said exactly over the phone to get this done? It can't be as easy as "Hey, please expedite the order, and I don't feel like paying extra. Thanks". Surely you have to pretend to be angry over something about your laptop or trying to cancel your order no?
What are your experiences with this?

Just tell them you've tried to contact them a few times and haven't received a response and then ask them for a courtesy upgrade for your trouble. You can get lots of stuff for free this way especially if you get one of the call centers in India. I think those people are trained to first resist and then give you free stuff to keep you happy, kinda funny really.
Not sure if this still works but it did when I tried it last March after I bought an E1505.

I buy the laptop sooner...That always gets it shipped earlier.

Ordering sooner does not make Dell expedite your order btw. Please stay on topic. The question was not "What have you done to get your computer shipped earlier?"

Well, if you act like an a-hole like choop recommends, a CSR will tell you that they expedited your order.

Another thread suggested to call in and just inquiry about your order to make sure it is correct. Then if you throw in that you are having buyer's remorse they may sweeten the deal to keep it. There is no reason you need to be a jerk though to get free stuff.

my laptop was in boxing stage for freaking 4 days so I called them up(Wednesday) and told them I was going to buy other laptop and return their as soon as it got to me,well I got it Friday on the same week

Just ask them the delivery date and when they tell you what that is just say you need a system for work etc... before that and you may have to just go retail.
I did not even have to ask for expediting when I ordered my 1420. I just called to complain that I had to go to the end of the line when I modified my order to add the stupid remote.. which I could not buy separately as an accessory. I had to go through the modify department.. cancel and rebuild order. But this was last summer and it seemed everyone was getting free overnight since Dell was extremely backed up when they released all the colorful lids. Unfortunately, my 1420 looked better then it performed. I got lucky with HP on the first try.
I would not worry so much about getting it a few days earlier. Just pray its has good build quality and a nice LG screen. -
Hmm or you could just make sure you dont order any delayed parts and get next day and you can pry have your computer in like 3 days expecting anything quicker than that is crazy unless you live somewhere other than america.. then your just ****ed
